How to Predict Volcanic Eruption

team emission darkens and increases in volume as the volcano is about to erupt.  The crater glows as magma or molten rocks approach the vent.

Drying up of vegetation and sudden change of ground temperature are also observed.

Rock falls and landslides may indicate the cones adjustment to accommodate the magma.
Seismographs like a doctors stethoscope detect earth tremors to determine the site, direction and rate of movement of underground materials.
The level temperature and chemistry of wells, lake and hot spring waters near the volcano may change.

Animals exhibit unusual behavior as they sense the volcanoes restiveness.

The volcano observer uses his senses to observe activites of the changes in a volcano.

The vulcanologist investigates the historical and geological background of the volcano to infer possible future trends in its behavior.
